New Library Sculpture Printed at CDME by Member Company IC3D

Posted:

Sculptor, Gavin Bruce, created a 3D printed bust of Andrew Carnegie for display in the newly reopened Columbus Metropolitan Library. This project is so visionary because it employs cross disciplinary formative techniques. Instead of using traditional materials, Bruce took advantage of IC3D's additive manufacturing technology to create something which was unique and astonishing. IC3D, a member company of the CDME, is exceptional because it also manufactures its own corn based 3D filament, right here in Ohio. This project is an amazing example of the possible outcomes when totally different industries come together in an explosion of creative collaboration.
