DiMarco, Ben
Ben DiMarco
Biography
Ben DiMarco is the Additive Manufacturing Technology Leader at The Ohio State University’s Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME). He has a master’s degree with a technical emphasis in Additive Manufacturing. At CDME he is a Principal Engineer and acting PI on over $3.0M in research awards focused on Advanced Manufacturing. Prior to joining the team at Ohio State, Ben worked 9 years in the aerospace and automotive industries for Honda R&D Americas. At Honda, Ben was instrumental in establishing the metal additive manufacturing lab in the United States and formulating initial process strategies for laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), with a particular focus on Nickel-Based superalloys. At OSU, Ben is a key leader in metal additive operations and has executed complex research projects for LPBF, Binder Jetting, and Directed Energy Deposition. Ben is a participating member of professional standards committees including AMS, ASTM, and SAE. Additionally, he has volunteered on professional standards boards within SAE (2013 -- 2018); serving as a member of the SAE Dayton-Section Board for five years and acting as the section chairman for three years. In 2022, Ben was selected as an America Makes ambassador in the field of Additive Manufacturing. In 2023, Ben was appointed to the America Makes executive committee.
