Schupska, Pete

Biography

Pete Schupska is a principal mechanical engineer at The Ohio State University's Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME). Before joining CDME in February of 2022, he spent more than 15 years in the automotive and fluid power industries; most recently at TS Tech as Product Engineering Manager responsible for validation testing and FEA/CAE simulation for automotive seating products. He previously worked as a Senior Design Engineer at Swagelok and Parker Hannifin after beginning his career at Honda R&D as a Chassis Design Engineer. At OSU, he is a key leader in mechanical design and manufacturing applied research operations. He has extensive experience in mechanical design, process development, and statistical analysis.

Originally from Midland, Michigan; Pete resides in Columbus, Ohio with his wife, cats, and horse. He has been an active volunteer with the SAE Baja events since graduation, regularly participating as a National Technical Inspector at competition events.

Expertise

Pete received his Master’s in Engineering Management from Ohio University and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University; he completed Green and Black Belt in Design for Six Sigma, certified through the University of Michigan.
